For Peace With Iran, Israel Should Get MAD

Ibrahim stated - "The unfortunate reality is that Iran will have a nuclear weapon in three years or less..." That is utter rubbish. Iran might have the ability to enrich uranium, but that does not mean an automatic weapons program. So far there has been no evidence to show that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. In fact IAEA head Mohammed ElBaradei has stated on many occasions that Iran is complying totally with the NPT, the last time he said so being only last week.

Let's get one thing clear here. Iran is a signatory to the NPT, which gives it a legal right under international law to develop nuclear energy and to enrich uranium. No other nation or organisation has the right to try and stop such legal activity. The act of trying to stop a legal activity is illegal itself, therefore the demands of the UNSC and the sanctions imposed on Iran are coercive, threatening, not to mention illegal (I mentioned that again).

Thus Iran is quite within its rights under law to totally ignore the illegal demands of the UNSC, especially as they are based on allegations by the USA where there has not been one shred of evidence provided to show that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons. Don't forget those mythical WMD in Iraq either and the illegal invasion and occupation of that nation by the USA, which clearly demonstrates which nations observe the law and which nations do not. The USA has broken or abrogated almost every international law and treaty to which it was a party.

It is time that the world demanded that the USA either put up or shut up. If it has conclusive proof that Iran is actually developing nuclear weapons, then let this evidence be displayed for the world to see. Until this happens, mere suspic Don't forget why the Iranians hate the USA - they haven't forgotten the CIA's overthrow of President Mohammed Mossadegh in 1953 in clandestine Operation Ajax, just so that the US and British oil barons could continue to plunder Iranian oil for themselves.
