It's surprising that so little attention has been paid to the only non-military way to get Iran to respect the world's opinion that it should not have nuclear weapons. (By the way, it needs to be more clearly laid out what - exactly - we want Iran to do; even the President has waffled on the issue of whether it is acceptable, in principle, for Iran to possess nuclear power plants). Once we clarify our goals, the countries of the world should embark on the only embargo that will work - stop buying their friggin oil! For one month, no oil out and no refined gasoline in (Iran does not have the capacity to meet its gasoline needs on its own; yet another symptom of its bankrupt ideology). How much would prices go up without Iranian oil? 10% 20%? Maybe Russia or the Saudis - who are no fan of Iran - could step up production. In any case, it is a fallacy to believe that just because they are in the right, the world will not have to sacrifice to make Iran behave. The extremists are right about one thing: the world has become soft and spoiled. It's time to show some backbone and stop sending petrodollars into the hands of the Iranian welfare state. People will say this is too hard, but you know what? War has proven to be quite hard too.
