Macy's Team Ready To Float In Big Parade

Submitted by Glen Moyer, Nov 24, 2006 13:45

The new Macy's balloon buuilt to lead this 80th parade is not a hot air balloon, it is a gas balloon designed to be inflated with helium or hydrogen. A simple look at the balloon will reveal that ther eis no on board burner, no uprights, no fuel tanks -- all comon to a hot air balloon. To identify a gas balloon as a hot air balloon is to identify an aircraft carrier as a cabin cruiser. They're both boats but that's about where the comparisons stop.
