As the NY Times and others have pointed out recently, Jerusalem is becoming a second tier city, between the rising numbers of Palestinians whom no one wants to live near, and lower middle class Israelis, it is losing its status. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem would go along way to adding back the status and jobs the Israeli capital needs in that city.
