I am the founder of http://www.NYCGarages.com, a website that compares all daily and monthly parking garage rates and locations in Manhattan. There are 1,050 public parking facilities on the island of Manhattan, with a total capacity of 151,420 spaces. The parking tax is 18.375% for non-Manhattan registrations (10.375% for Manhattan registrations).

The average monthly rate throughout Manhattan is $477 (including 18.375% tax) and the average SUV surcharge is $97 (including 18.375% tax). The most expensive SUV surcharge in the city is $462. Daily parking can range from $8 to $70, and parking facilities across the street from one another often differ in price by as much as $50 per day. You can visit NYCGarages.com for complete parking information.
