Israel's Olmert Will Visit Bush

Olmert should explain why the restraint during the last war with Lebanon, starting with the assumption that the US does not want Israel to be overly aggressive with it's enemies..in essence, to fight with one hand tied behind it's back.

If Israel can have an understanding with Bush as to the US position in this conflict, as well as the more general regional dynamics including Iraq and Iran, everyone will be better off.

Israel is still being blamed for just about everything adverse in the Arab-Muslim worlds.

Over and over again, we hear the I hate Israel crowd bemoan what they claim is unqualified support for the Jewish state.

They don't bring up the fact that the US supplies the moderate Arab states with billions of dollars worth of state of the art weaponry, and has advocated a 2 state solution to the 100 year old conflict, something no other President has proposed, and which, in my opinion, will lead to a disaster.

Israel should ask for a solution which in essence gives autonomy to the Palestinian Arabs..in a federation with Jordan (West Bank), and Egypt (Gaza Strip). Jerusalem must remain one city..with Arab control over their holy sites, that's all.
