Syria's Bloody Fingerprint

Submitted by Daniel Coultoff, Nov 24, 2006 22:59

This editorial hits the main point, that Syria has been a long-term foe of American interest, and those urging negotiations/capititulation with Syria/Iran have forgotten what was said by the 9-11 Comission. While the Iraq War may or may not have been ill-considered, there is still no excuse for appeasing Syria. There is no deal to be had with Iran and Syria, but this is being driven by American politics (there is a similarity between the political standing of the Bush Administration today and the Lincoln Administration heading into the elections of 1864. If one accepts the fact that the world has shrunk since 1864 so that we are now part of a worldwide civil war there is a similarity in the enemies, e.g. slavery and radical Islam).
