With the latest situation on immigration I have come bolting out of my already cynical perception of U.S. politics to a more tumultuous place, I am incredibly disillusioned and very afraid of how far the Rich White Republican conglomerate of men that run this country will take this situation. This article is one of the few articles that defend the point of view of the lower class immigrant by giving facts and numbers (dollar signs) in regards to what we do contribute, rather than the most common "immigrants are costing us our tax dollars" rant which I still to this day do not understand how. How is it that immigrants are costing Americans their tax dollars? Is it the Welfare situation? As far as I know an illegal immigrant cannot apply for welfare, only legal residents and American citizens can. And why is it that everyone is talking about what should be done to the illegal immigrants but I hear and read very little discussion on what is being done to penalize the big companies that hire these workers?

I can go on and on about the holes in these arguments let alone the hypocrisy. We need more articles like these.
