Watch the franco-german TV program arte and you won't get the US junk TV and its Eu clones. But then it would be too intellectual for you I guess. You may also watch FR3. But if you watch the private channel TF1 and the Sarkozy state controlled FR2 - FR3 is also state control but French regions oriented.
