Two City Hospitals Give Up Fight Against Closure

Submitted by Art Fougner MD, Jun 5, 2007 09:12

The announcement that St. Vincent's Midtown is giving up the ghost brings a tear to my eyes. I was born in that hospital when it was St. Clare's. In fact, I did some of my post-graduate training there as well. St. Clare's was the hospital of record for Madison Square Garden and I got to see many of the NY Knick greats of the 70's who were there for their physicals, etc. A part of my past is disappearing into the ether of time. It's a sad day.
