The Salafist Jihadists have preached a dual doctrine of the restoration of the Caliphate under strict Sharia law (Fascism) along with a Marxist economy since day one. It's found in the writings of Sayeed Qutb and others. Where you should have been surprised is that, with this alleged plot against JFK airport, you now have a cell of Shia Muslims who have joined the ranks of the Salafist Jihadists. Up to this point, the Jihadists have recruited solely from the ranks of Sunni Muslims. That is the real shocker.
