Establishment Who's Who Fails To Rescue Libby

No citizen should be dragged before a grand jury unless the prosecutor can state what crime he is investigating. And no judge should hear a case and describe it as "serious" when he himself can't say what crime was committed. This case is about an alleged lie uncovered during an investigation about a question the prosecutor all ready knew the answer to. And it is therefore unjust and dishonest. If the matter of leaking Plame's name is serious - then why has Armitage not been arrested. Fitzgerald was on an illegal fishing expedition. Period. The Judge was angry because Libby did not take the stand as is his constitutional right and punished him by denying him a fair trial. And finally, Russert lied the moment he used the word "impossible" in his testimony. Nothing related to memory is impossible - and the evidence was that Russert was guilty of misremembering on other important occasions. The trial was a travesty and does harm to American belief in our legal system.
