Thank you for writing this article. Ten years ago, I read an article in the New Republic about John McCain's generous defense of the memory of David Ifshin, I believe on the floor of the Senate, after it had been defamed by some of his colleagues. It brought tears to my eyes then and new respect for the Senator. I am moved by the Senator's telling the story of his friendship with Mr. Ifshin, 10 years after his death.
