Road Congestion Cameras Assailed for Privacy Risk

It is difficult to believe that the privacy concern is anything other than a red herring to deflect from purely NIMBY concerns of a westchester representative. There are thousands of cameras already pointed at you on the PUBLIC streets. I fail to see how anyone can have an expectancy of privacy when they travel on a public street in any case. Also when you are in a car, you are subject to random searches for drunk driving. and finally if you are afraid of big brother New York City streets in a identifiable car with license plates is hardly the place for you to expect that you are not being watched. I do think you can have an intelligent discussion of whether there are better ways to limit cars in Manhattan but privacy is clearly a red herring concern.
