Romney was totally incorrect when he said Saddam wouldn't allow inspectors in. They were going all over Iraq for seven months prior to the U.S. invasion, and they found no weapons of mass destruction. They reported that fact publicly to the U.N. And they told the Security Council in March 2003 that they were basically allowed to go anywhere they wanted to. Two days before the U.S. invasion, they were ordered out by the U.N. for their safety. Bush has made the same incorrect claim many times, and now Romney is repeating it. Do they think the world didn't see on TV the inspectors leaving Iraq right before the U.S. went in? Do they think there aren't transcripts and news reports available about the inspectors' findings of no WMD? As someone else has commented, Romney's statement was like claiming that Mexico bombed Pearl Harbor.
