I think this is a conflation. Malvo's first and middle names are Lee Boyd. The other half of the Washington sniper team was John Muhammad. I wonder which individual Steyn was talking about; my guess is Malvo, since his mother and he are immigrants - but I had not heard that he was an illegal immigrant, as Steyn implies.
