Alicia you speak for more of us than you know. I live in California but thanks to the internet I am able to read your column on a pretty regular basis. I too have noticed a change in the way people are regarding hispanics in general. When people demand "their rights" even though they aren't citizens and don't plan on becoming citizens then I too begin to look at them differently. I don't buy the argument that they are entitled to "human rights" therefore we must grant them citizenship because they are here. The fact that they could care less about becoming Americans is what bothers me most. Their view of citizenship is "now we can get stuff from the government" and to hell with what it costs.
