Peace Corps Part of Edwards Terror Plan
in response to reader comment: We must find a different way!

When someone starts talking about oil profits with regard to the Iraq war, and 'indifference to poverty' causing resentment, I have to wonder how in tune with reality that person is. Have you heard of an oil for food program that was complete pillaged by the former leader of Iraq, or was that an OK thing to do in the eyes of the world? Billions of dollars taken from his own people didn't fuel a terrorist uprising in Iraq, so listing that as a cause of terrorist acts is completely absurd. That man and his regime ruled out of fear for decades - broken spirits and poverty were the norm! What the people of Iraq need is democracy and freedom to do and be what they want and say what they want without fear of reprisal. What they NEED is what all people NEED - the ability to provide for themselves, not be handed anything in the name of taking from the so-called evil oil companies. They need that pride in self that all people need that comes from providing FOR yourself, not relying on others. I think the "teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime" saying sums it up. If they want creeping socialism, they can move to the nightmare being developed by Hugo Chavez. People deserve the right to provide for themselves, and that is what is being accomplished in Iraq. Whether you read about it in the "news" or not, that is what is being accomplished. I'm so tired of the naive view of this war being about oil, and please, give me one story of the Iraqi people clamoring over big oil profits causing their situations before making that assumption. If the terrorists were so concerned about finding lost souls who were being oppressed, they'd have been in Iraq in the 80s and 90s rounding up millions to back their cause.
