Bush Presses Senate GOP On Immigration

After the 1986 amnesty, came 20 years of both Republican and Democrat executive and congressional dominance during which laws were ignored and elected officials avoided enlightenment. Now when Illegal aliens have grown from 2-3 million to 12-20 million "the best we can hope for" are 700 pages of deception evading enforcement, and promoting the illusion of problem solving by moving legal boundaries far below current standards. Illegal aliens and their beneficiaries could then proceed at their leisure, without further embarrassing any Administration or Congress.

Legislation the President desires to resuscitate includes moving Illegal aliens ahead of 800,000 legal applicants, providing renewable probationary legal status without background checks, avoiding any serious requirement to learn English, furnishing access to public health and educational benefits, distributing social security numbers, and avoiding personal health and immunization requirements. The legislation validates and enhances broad legal boulevards for terrorists coming from Canada, and Central and South America for freedom of movement before they choose to murder us, and then full legal system access afterwards.

These are not undocumented workers living in the shadows, but comforted felons (illegal, unlawful entry is a felony) with powerful enablers, perceiving financial and/or political gain from devising a path of dependency and servitude, and evading the rigorous path of assimilation immigrants have followed as they enriched each new generation of Americans.
