Have you been watching this team? That Yankees desperately need a RIGHTY bat, which Dunn isn't. Texeira is an ideal addition because he could man first base for a decade and as a switch hitter protects the lineup from either side. Sweeney wouldn't cost much in prospects and is a better player than he's shown this year. Perhaps the never-ending losing has finally gotten to him. Less flashy improvements at first would be Jeff Conine or Kevin Millar. Until they do that, Andy Phillips should replace Phelps.

The bullpen will be okay if the starters keep giving them six or more innings, but it would help if Torre would stop warming up extra relievers for no apparent reason. I would trade Farnsworth for a bowl a fruit loops and some month-old pizza. Look for Igawa next week if Clippard struggles again.
