Mr Greene has hit the proverbial nail on the head, as has your article. My grandfathers both smoked a pipe regularly, living a long happy life. I can still smell the burley plug smoldering out of one of their corn cobs, as we wandered through the bean fields and headed toward the hen house. Although my father never took it up, I did several years ago. There's nothing like puttering around the garden, reading a good book, or (my favorite) watching the kids play and laugh.
