Iran Backing Gaza Fighters, Israeli Security Chief Says

The recent violence against Israel, from Gaza, Lebanon and elsewhere is only confirmation of the Iranians' involment in terrorist acts against the Israeli state. While Iran may not be physically involved in these terrorist acts, certainly they provide training, advisement and armaments. These recent actions are quite ominous in view of the fact that Iran now has something they have pursued for a great number of years - a physical border from which to launch attacks against Israel. Coupled with Iran's ongoing nuclear efforts, they must be considered the prime threat, not just to Israel, but to the world-at-large. Hateful diatribes, to paraphase, 'we will make Israel bleed', we are closer than ever to seeing the elimination of Israel' and similar hateful rants, clearly state the intent of Iran and its handmaidens. Perhaps the primary limiter for Iran is the certainty of massive Israeli retaliation, and the further certainty of US support for Israel, whether this takes the form of actual participation, or logistical and military support. Iran's missile and nuclear programs threaten not only Israel, but any state in the region who they view as a present or potential adversary, or simply someone who differs with their ideology. The ending of Iran's efforts in these areas is imperative, by whatever methods, and as soon as possible. Unlike the Osirak attack of 1981, this will not be so easy a mission - actual physical combat with Iraq is problematic for any nation, alliamce or other groups, for various reasons. The action must, nonetheless, be undertaken. A moderate, yet effective action against Iran's missile and/or nuclear infrastructure may be enough to convince Iran of the near or total unity of the world community to prevent their further acquisition of advanced missile and nuclear technology and weaponry. Whether this is accomplished by direct action against these sites, or by the influencing of regime change in Tehran, this must be a priority of the free world. Iran's base of operations in Gaza and elsewhere must be crushed and eliminated, and the sooner the better.
