Dear Mr. McWhorter,

I am writing to express our thanks to you and your wife, Martha Sparks. We attended Langston Hughes: An American Celebration through your generosity. The Fourth through Sixth Graders attended the performance and really enjoyed it. We completed pre and post work about Mr. Hughes (like timelines, studied his poetry, learned about the Harlem Renaissance) in order to enhance the students' enjoyment and understanding. Our music teacher was inspired to include three "Swing" performance in our last assembly after watching Mr. LeLand's show. (Michael is a good friend and colleague.) Again, thanks so much for making this rewarding experience possible.
