$2.2 million for the research libraries? Fantastic! Though it has yet to be reported, the Research Libraries have been laying off staff, have plans for more layoffs over the next year, and are implimenting departmental restructuring which- despite 6 day service- will limit public access to NYPL collections. Why? Because we have a $1.2 million deficit. So I take it that Mr. Schwatzman's fete means we can scrap these damaging plans?
