Jeter's situational hitting ability is exceptional. He can fit into any lineup perfectly because of it. It is evidenced by his tendency to score about 116 runs per year. He can get on base in front of hitters like Alex Rodriguez or Hideki Matsui who will drive him in. He is one of the best at stealing third base to set up a sacrifice fly or an RBI groundout. He is able to perform the hit and run to perfection. Rizzuto and Dent were not the offensive force that Jeter is. While they were liabilities on offense, Jeter is a plus player.
