Assembly Set To Approve Gay Marriage

Submitted by J Hartz, Jun 19, 2007 08:22

It is interesting that despite the fact that the majority of New Yorkers claim Catholic roots and faith, we see this type of legislation supported by so many who, after the favorable vote, will go straight back to their homes and familiies and to Mass on Sunday, receive Holy Communion, and wait for the next Sunday when they can again wallow in their shallow cultural celebration of a faith they lost long ago. Count also the silence and support of the numerous Catholic bishops thorougout the U.S.who either remain silent, don't care or are more concerned with being politically correct. Make no mistake, this is not just an issue in N.Y.

It is also sad that a once flourishing Catholic school system and Catholic life in general has collapsed; but it is to be expected when good people cease to pray, obey Christ's teachings in both private and public life and embrace a secular culture. If we want to know what our children's inheritance will be in 30 years, just look to Europe.................we had better learn Arabic and the religion of Mohammed because they are the only group not practicing cultural suicide.
