It is the American people who need to see that the war will go on indefinitely---if not in Iraq, somewhere else---Pakistan, perhaps. My children will fight in this war, I am saddened to realize, and they may see their children grow up to fight in it also, God forbid. George has done his best with the advice he has received, but neither has been very good. Our future leaders will have to do better, and communicate the reality of the necessary war better also. Still we must admire President Bush for his determination and his courage in the face of withering slander---from the left and right alike.
