Three-State Solution
in response to reader comment: Devoutly to be wished

More wishful thinking by supporters of Israel's survival and flouishment.

Why in heavens name would Egypt and Jordan want the headaches? No way, no how, no, no, no.

Egypt and Jordan conquered the Gaza Strip and W. Bank, with every intentions of ultimately destroying the newly created Jewish country. Had the 5 armies that invaded Israel been successful, the region would have had an entirely different history, as wel all know.

Jordan divested itself of the Palestinian headache on the W. Bank. It does not want a federation.

Egypt can barely contend with it's own Muslim problems and insurgency. It has not been able to control the border with Israel.

No, the solution is for a 2 state solution: Israel from the Gaza Strip border to the W. Bank border. It should keep the Strip isolated, except for food, fuel, etc.

However, before the above, arrangements about the Jordan Valley, return of refugees (to the W. Bank), and Jerusalem (East) will have to be ironed out.

It's somewhat of a gamble, but the alternative suggested in this article is dead from the beginning.
