My first reaction is that its a good thing. Bloomberg is right on point when he talks about the partisan gridlock, maybe somebody as himself who won't need to take money from PACs would be a solution to a 50 year old problem. My dream is to one day have all elections publicly funded, this could be a step in the right direction.
The only downfall is that if he indeed runs for president he may be taking votes away from the democratic nominee. This would ultimately be history repeating itself, like Naders affect on the 2000 election.
We will have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, this will make 08 even more interesting
