Gay Marriage Bill ‘Very Likely' To Pass Assembly in Near Future
in response to reader comment: TOLERANCE? YES APPROVAL? NO

Churches and other houses of worship have been choosing, or not choosing, to celebrate the union of people of the same sex for years.  There is supposed to be a separation of church and state in this country.  That means that the government can not and should not force religious institutions to perform nor restrict them from performing such unions.  However, it is selfish and wrong for citizens to withhold access to the rights afforded to other citizens on the basis of their religious beliefs.  My family and my child deserve the same access to healthcare and other rights afforded to legally-married couples, period.
