Bloomberg Leaves GOP

Submitted by Mitchell Langbert, Jun 20, 2007 01:10

Mayor Bloomberg's criticisms of the political candidates are ironic. The Mayor has spent the past six years kowtowing to the city's power brokers. He has busied himself with restaurant menus, west side football stadiums and a long range vision statement that mimics the failed ideas of Robert Moses. While he has harassed small business, he has catered to billionaire developers like Bruce Ratner. During his tenure, city government has been bloated, New York City's taxes inflated, and the divsions between rich and poor as sharp as ever. The middle class has flee as Bloomberg has fiddled. If he were elected president, I suspect that real estate prices in Peoria and Oshkosh would start to mimic New York's. Private use eminent domain actions would mushroom. Bruce Ratner and the Ochs Sulzbergers could build tasteless super-projects all over the country. Soon, European multi-millionaires would dominate the Oshkosh condo market. If elected, Bloomberg promises that native Peorians will have to move to Tijuana. Hasta Luego, Bloomberg.
