Bush Weighs Reaching Out To ‘Brothers'

Submitted by Roger, Jun 20, 2007 09:03

The last paragraph finally touched on the subject I kept looking for--the connection between the Brotherhood and the assasins of Anwar Sadat. The avoidance of blame seems contrived, although our State Department probably welcomes it.

My point--the radical Islamist philosophy to combine political, military and religious control in the hands of a single person has a definition--it is fascism. Been there, done that. It leads to oppression, war and even genocide. While George Bush has made a lot of mistakes, his idea of trying to plant the seed of democracy in the Mideast is good. Working with the Muslim Brotherhood is akin to feeding the sharks before we jump into the water. Bad idea, and certainly not consistent.
