If there's one thing our brave Albany "representatives" are good at, it's stalling on good ideas. Did they not read the hundred+ page transportation technical memorandum released by PlaNYC? Or all of the other studies that have been conducted before now, such as the Partnership for NYC's? Yes, what we need is a commission (we all know how efficient and effective they are) to further study the issue.
Meanwhile, traffic will continue to get worse, our road, bridge and tunnel infrastructure will continue to deteriorate, air quality will continue to degrade, CO2 emissions will continue to increase, the economy will continue to be dragged down, MTA debt will continue to pile up, and transit fares will be raised and eventually bridge & tunnel tolls as well.
But just keep studying! Lord knows we didn't elect you all to educate yourselves and/or stick your necks out for bold solutions to our city and state's most pressing problems.
