Dr. Moore has diagnosed the health care system correctly - SiCKO. The subject of health care definitely needs a shocking demonstration on film to capture the public's attention and engage them in the conversation on health. Leaving these discussions to insurers, pharma, and provider associations assures continued problems as none speak to efficiency and outcomes. Access to health care and receiving appropriate care are major problems whether insured or not. The solution must look beyond headlines of more money but to more timely and effective care. Moore's diagnosis applies equally to Canada and the US however. Simply haveing a medicare card does not treat the person nor ensures proper care.
