I should have been more clear on the right of return. In fact, there is no such resolution that automatically guarantees every Muslim the right to return to a former home within Israel. This is to be negotiated and not implemented before both sides agree to the terms.
We all know that Israel offered the Palestinians everything they wanted, but Arafat had no counter-offer to Israel's rejection of millions of Arabs flooding it (and therefore it's destruction).
I mean can anyone imagine the US taking in 100 million Chinese during the Korean War, or 50 milion Germans and Italians during WW2? I think the answer is obvious.
Sure, President Bush wants a 2 state solution. He is pandering both to the leftist Jewish crowds, as well as the Arab-Muslim populations (moderate).
In fact, the problem is not a two or three state solution, and which is viable, but the Arab world's loathing of any Jewish presence in the Middle East. That is the crux of this entire quagmire. This enmity did not start just prior to the Intifada (2), it started 100 years ago, to quote Arafat, with "Zionism".
Some things just don't change over time..and this is about the worst. Ask, George Tenet about his plan for the M.E. and where it ended up..in a book.
