I have to disagree with you. Bucky's glove never failed the Yankees--look at his career fielding percentage for shortstops--I think it's number 10 I believe. Greg Nettles said in his book "Balls" that Buck was the best shortstop he ever played with.

Buck did not have Jeter's bat--how many shortstops do? But Jeter is very overrated glove wise--everybody who follows the game knows that.

As far as smarts/fielding--I'll take Buck any day. He is one of the best defensive bench coaches in the leauge today. Who did George use to tutor Jeter when he was just coming up? He hired Buck of course!
