It's a tiny step forward with the usual suspects dissenting. McCain-Feingold curtails free speech of people whose voice normally would never make it in the mainstream media right before elections. If the mainstream doesn't want to deal with an issue that would adversely affect a favored candidate, or help an unfavored candidate set the record straight, if the mainstream doesn't want to show a side to the story they do not agree with, you're never going to hear it. They are already trying to kill the one way you still can -- talk radio. And they are calling it the "fairness" doctrine, LOL
