Indeed there is public cynicism, but it is about Congress and the elites in their entirety. Do Justice Souter et al not realize that Congress has little if any support from both parties' members/citizens. Congress' will is not representative of the people and breeds contempt for all ruling elites and their nefarious agendas. Thank goodness we can continue to speak freely--for the moment (fairness doctrine alert!). B
