Poor Could Draw $6,000 a Year Under Bloomberg Plan

How ridiculous has our social system gotten? We are PAYING people to keep jobs? What about the average American who works 40 hours a week, or holds down two jobs? They get to pay the extra taxes on that income so that the person who couldn't previously be bothered to get off a social program will now be paid for working the same hours as everyone else! Geez, getting a library card is noteworthy....how many people will ever check out and read a book if they haven't already? Why not pay people to not have children? Why not pay people for not being a drain on the rest of society? You aren't a drain if you have fallen on hard times, but until this country reviews cases individually, a blanket "here is some money because you found the public library" couldn't be more assinine.

Heaven forbid if the gov't ever helped out the person who worked through college and took out major loans so they could better themselves. There isn't loan forgiveness for them. BUT, don't get an education, have several kids, and don't get married - then we will pay for your education, your rent (even a house if you'd like to buy one), utility bills, and in some cases, even cable t.v....and now we'll pay you if you decide you want to work or take your kids to a denist like the rest of the country's responsible parents.

This country was founded by hard working individuals. There shouldn't be a reward paid to those who finally get with the program and join the rest of us.
