Liberal Church More ‘Balanced' On Middle East

The UCC isn't liberal... the national UCC administration is, and they usually fail to communicate the breadth of theological perspective resident in their ranks, as was communicated by the 2001 Synod resolution.

Local churches are generally less leftist, and the locals have recently awakened to attempt moderation of their national leaders' voice.

What you are seeing in this Hartford Synod is the fruit of UCC member efforts to become more engaged in their denomination's resolution process, especially Dexter Van Zile and his Fair Witness group in the case of moderating the UCC's Anti-Israel statements.
