Turks in Suspense As Erdogan Sets Welcome of Pope

As an Agnostic, Irish Liberal. I am appauled by this present inflammatory Pope Benedict.

He has no sincere respect for other religious. Intolerance has no place in such a position as the Pope holds. Rather than respect the right of reglious tolerance he wants to force his Catholic views on Buddhists, Hindus and other religions who he deems inferior and "hell-bound". He feels that catholicism is a monopoly on religious thought.

The turks helped the germans through WW I and WW II. Many Germans love the turkish people for their loyalty. In fact Hitler's minister of propaganda--Josef Goebels was part Turkish. For a German pope like pope Rat -zinger to say that turkey shouldn't be in the European Union for such an organization is comprised of Christian nations is very intolerant and close-minded, not to mention disloyal and inflammatory to the turkish people who have helped and continue to be an ally to the Germans.

He is an embarrasment to me as a former Irish Catholic. If he has noble ends or objectives, he should use noble, non-incendiary means or methods.

It is this same type of intolerant, close-minded Pope who ignored the cries of the Jews in Germany during the Holocaust.

And alternatively, (just to play the devil's advocate) haven't the Germans been accused of enough violence?! Starting 2 World Wars and a Holocaust?!

When the pope is shown photographed with Muslim Imams and Religious leaders "chatting" and allegedly "smiling with them" in front of the cameras, you can see the distrust, hatred and evil in his eyes as he makes eye contact with these religious leaders.

I am calling for all sensible people, religious or not, of all faiths, especially those who respect tolerance and open-mindedness to ask that this pope give a sincere apology to the Islamic people (1 of the 3 Monolithic, Monotheistic, Respected Religions) he offeneded in his speech at Remsenburg and to have the guts to step down and resign as Pope.

The pope quoted a crusader who said that Islam is inherently violent. What about the crusaders who raped and robbed people in Islamic countries many, many years ago?! If you allow these violent "muslims" who have clouded the perception of true Islam (which can only be analyzed through the Koran) then you are doing a half-hearted, hasty attempt to understand this ancient, noble religion.

Liberals, true Muslims, true-Catholics, artists, and writers Unite and speak up against this angry, inflammatory German Pope!!!
