It would appear that the ISG has met the largest political hurdle in planning for future Iraq ops. For a plan to succeed and accomplish something, it has to be supported, and Democrats (also trying desperately to fulfill their midterm pledge of "A New Direction In Iraq" are equally stuck. There is only 1 plan presented so far that is politically feasible, realistic in terms of success, and can be supported by Republicans, Independents, and Democrats (save of course those on the farthest left).
