Surge's Backers Warn of Retreat

Submitted by Ron Phife, Jun 27, 2007 21:04

I have said all along: the course of action is to crush the enemy and replace the Iraqi government. You can not have a government run on the behalf of the militias. The Bush administration must have better Iraqi leaders who will pass legislation and provide the forces to establish security in the country. We must have leaders who will get the job done even if we place them in the positions ourselves. Security is the main issue.

Bush must act by increasing the size of the armed forces and pursuing a relentless drive to victory. He is the commander in chief. He can borrow the money if necessary to finance the war. He must use all weapons to attack the enemy and eliminate the rules of engagement that hamper our forces. When generals ask for more troops, he should provide it immediately. He should kill the amnesty bill and fight the war. These terrorists will not stop attacking US troops nor civlians if we fail.
