Baker's Panel Rules Out Iraq Victory

Submitted by Nerith, Nov 28, 2006 23:27

It's interesting the degree of ignorance that seems to be employed in making judgements on this topic. "Islamic Lunacy" hmm? What is it that you understand about islamic religion? Much of what the U.S. and western countries refer to when they speak of this religion is a small faction of that religion's followers! Further, what is it that makes followers of this religion lunatics? What most of the people in western countries, especially the people calling the islamists lunatics, fundamentalists and such don't understand is that the Koran dictates a religion much like Catholicism and Judaism, and that these religions esentailly all have the same root principles! Like Christianity involves worship of a martyr so to do Islamis value martyrdom, and when a country's leader, dictator or no, has been removed by the will of another country and that same country has invaded your land and tried to force a system that is wholly theirs upon you, will you be a "suicide bomber" when you retaliate, or a martyr to sit at the right hand of god? That is what the few "insurgent" leaders are teaching to their followers that become suicide bombers, that they are doing their country and gold justice, and who of strong faith would choose not to do such a thing?

Not to mention that the intent was (supposedly) never war with iraq, according to the Bush jr. It was to find weapons of mass destruction, then to promote democracy, now it's become to get out with their asses intact, and to the sunni muslim's it's just been about the oil all along! And they're justified in that belief, the U.S. has been careful about protecting iraq's oil while they've been there, but not the people or the nation's potentail for a future.
