McDonald's Takes Paris

Submitted by Michael, Jul 3, 2007 14:11

On-target about the food, which has done well in many parts of France (and there are local French restaurant chains, like Buffalo Grill, that draw good crowds with a menu that is not all that different from your local Ponderosa Steakhouse). My only quarrel is with the business about American tourists being greeted with Gallic disdain: my family and I have been visiting France off and on for over 35 years, and have never encountered anything other than a warm welcome . That goes for all parts of the country, and all sorts of situations, including the legendary Paris waiters...

Many years of travel in a variety of parts of the world have shown me that you tend to find what you're looking for. If we'd stop repeating the old wheeze about the arrogant French I suspect more of us would receive the fine treatment I've always experienced there --
