The probability is that we will find one best "explanation of who we are and where we come from" (we have already laid some of the groundwork, but doubtless there is much we still have to learn), but no "Master Designer" will have had anything to do with it. Already the Master Design has been found to be full of egregious errors (the peripelvic birth of mega-cranial bipeds like ourselves, to start with) which only religious Candides would deny.
