Bush and Cheney needed Libby to obstruct justice by lying in this investigation. It's obvious to me that the higher ups were the ones who's decision it was to leak Plame's name to the press. If Libby was the sacrificial lamb or not, he lied to cover himself and the vice president, he was convicted rightly and justly and to take his prison sentence away is the president saying that the laws and the investigation shouldn't apply to the people in his administration. When Bush told the American people that the one responsible for the leak would be prosecuted he knew it was a decision that came from a scheme from his own people and it was on to find a way to get away with another treacherous scheme
