DeRussy Departs

As a right of centre professor that was an undergraduate during the early days of Candy, I am happy to see her go. She preferred to make some loud noises about academia's excesses (i.e. sex conference at New Paltz) rather than deal with the harder stuff--a growing bureaucracy at many of the campuses and a decline in full-time faculty.

PS--she's never actually used her academic credentials in a meaningful way. A search through the humanities abstracts yields nothing on her so-called expertise. Basically, she was the houswife of a wealthy financier with too much time on her hands.
