DeRussy Departs

Submitted by Mitchell Langbert, Jul 6, 2007 16:38

It is not surprising to read invective from anonymous academics about Candace de Russy. De Russy is one of the few trustees nationally who have brought light to bear on public universities. Some of the academics who benefit from the abuses that de Russy has questioned are of course eager to see her go.

I have blogged that Eliot Spitzer has decided to replace her because corruption and incompetence already characterize the Spitzer administration. Spitzer was "courageous" and "honest" when it came to attacking businessmen like Warren Buffett. When it comes to cleaning up the SUNY cesspool, or more generally the Albany cesspool in which Spitzer has scurried for years, Governor Spitzer's claws are simply too mucky.
