The woman killed in Michigan had her face directly in the way of a three-inch commercial mortar shell. She wasn't playing with sparklers and dime-store fountains which is about all you can get these days anyway. The apocalyptic scenario you're trying to portray is typical of the hyperbolic warnings of scare-mongerers. All the editorial is suggesting is that the responsible use of a few backyard fountains and bottlerockets doesn't portend the end of the world, as you would have us believe.
